Scenic boat cruises on the lakeLake Geneva offers virtually unlimited possibilitie for entertainment. Motorboats, know loacally as Mouettes, cross the lake or make trips along the parks on the shores of Lake Geneva. Larger boats take you on somewhat longer trips which show you the castles and stately homes in the countryside near Geneva. And then there are the large steamboats that cruise on a fixed schedule from one end of the lake to the other, stopping at towns and villages along the shores. Count at least half day for such a trip. Enthusiasts of old sailing boats will love the Neptune. Built in 1904 to transport stones from the other end of the lake. It has recently been restored and can be hired by groups for a trip on the lake.

Jet d'EauThe famous water fountain is the symbol of Geneva. The original Jet d'Eau was completed in 1891 and reach 90 m (270 ft), a height which has been increased to 140 m (460 ft). During the summer month, the Jet d'Eau operates every day, except in case of very bad weather. At night it is illuminated, creating a stunning sight from the center of town.
Place Neuve & Henry Dunant/Red CrossOn the Place Neuve is the statue of General DUfour, on of only four generals the Swiss army has had since 1815. Not far from there is a bust of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross. It is situated on the exact spot where in earlier times the guillotine stood. Visit also the Red Cross Museum.
Monument of the Port NoirExactly on this spot, the Swiss trops disembarked in 1814 in order to guarantee Geneva's peaceful entry into the Swiss Confederation.
