HOTEL SCHLOSS MONCHSTEIN***** Straight to the heart, in the heart of Salzburg ... We are rebuilding for you - therefore, our hotel will be closed from October 2006 till May 2007. Awarded as the best 5-star hotel in Austria with the Star Award. The castle was built in 1350 and used as a hotel in 1948. You´ll find this unique castle of the luxury class over the rooftops of the old town of Salzburg, surrounded by a fabulous 14.000 m2 wide park with lots of meadows and trees. With lots of love for the details, the necessary accurateness and with the due respect referring the tradition of the ancient castle, a comprehensive reconstruction was carried out in the beginning of 2003. The combinations of old tradition and state of the art design as well as modern technique represent a very particular attractiveness in this unique location. Our 24 individually designed rooms and suites offer fantastic views either of the park or the city of Salzburg. They are decorated with valuable antiques or in the way of the ?Wiener Werkstätten?. All of them are configured with special emphasis on the bathrooms. During the course of renovation work (2006/2007), our rooms and suites will receive a technical upgrade. All rooms will be equipped with AIR CONDITIONING and wireless internet access. A refurbishment of the restaurant and a new health spa to meet the demands of our guests will enchant you in 2007. HOTEL SCHLOSS MÖNCHSTEIN, Is directly situated in a 14.000 m2 large castle park on the hill Monchsberg. The quiet but still central location in the midst of Salzburg offers a magnificent round view over the Mozart city Salzburg. To reach the old town, only follow the ?Panoramic Route" 7 minutes and take the lift down, which is built into the hill Monchsberg. It will take you to the old part of the town with its beautiful sights, including the house of birth of the world's famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, within one minute. The city center can also be reached within 5 minutes by car.

Over the past few years we have taken the comments and requests of our guests to heart and we started rebuilding. For this reason our hotel will remain closed until the end of May 2007. The panorama terrace at reception level and the current restaurant will be covered with a cocoon-like glass roof. Our new spectacular restaurant MONCHSTEIN will offer a fabulous view overlooking the city of Salzburg. The interior design of the restaurant will correspond with the elegant appearance of the entire castle. This spot is also more than suitable for your light business lunch or for a sumptuous dinner at night. Elegantly laid tables with solid silverware and beautiful crystal underline the exclusive atmosphere. From the terrace you have a wonderful view over the pulsating old town or to the quiet ambience of the park surrounding the castle. Prior ? respectively after ? your dinner you can have your glasses clink either at the new lounge or at the garden terrace ?APOLLO?. Enjoy an evening to remember! For very festive and romantic occasions ?THE SMALLEST RESTAURANT OF THE WORLD? is definitively the place you´d choose. You´ll dine at the highest top of the castle in the tower and have a scenic view all over the town, the fortress and the Mt. Untersberg. You may take a reservation for the tower for two up to four persons. Another uique attraction - the only one of its kind in the world ? is the GOTHIC CHAMBER, which can be used both for small private dinner parties or ocnerences with us to 22 participants.
