Property Description

Castle Hill Inn & Resort is located on a private 40-acre peninsula just off Newport?s regaled Ocean Drive. The Resort sits majestically on a rolling green lawn, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and Narragansett Bay. The property was historically refurbished to its original splendor in 2003, and boasts 35 luxurious accommodations located in the Agassiz Mansion, Beach Houses, Beach Cottages, Harbor Houses and Chalet. The kitchen is staffed by an award-winning culinary team led by Executive Chef Jonathan Cambra. Each guest room is distinctly decorated to preserve the historic character of the Inn coupled with luxurious, modern amenities. In addition to the Mansion, Castle Hill offers a wealth of luxurious options. For those who enjoy a beach front experience, Castle Hill offers the Beach Houses, located approximately 100 yards from the Mansion, with breathtaking cathedral ceilings, fireplaces, leather sofas and antiques, and the Beach Cottages, located directly on Castle Hill?s private beach. Each Cottage is the epitome of a quintessential seaside experience with wicker chairs, specially selected furniture and modern touches. Closer to the Mansion and perched on a cliff over Newport Harbor, the Harbor House rooms enjoy a panoramic view of Narragansett Bay. Each room's French doors open onto a semi-private porch with Adirondack chairs. The Chalet, located just a short walk away, was once the laboratory of famed Marine Biologist Alexander Agassiz, and now serves as the function facility of Castle Hill Inn and Resort. Its hardwood floors, southern yellow pine paneling and divided light windows are true to the original design of the building, modeled after the Chalets in Agassiz?s native Switzerland.
